Student Card/Library Card
Your UBC card is also your library card. Cards are issued (if you have not already received one in the mail) at the UBC Carding Office in the
UBC Bookstore, 6200 University Blvd., during bookstore hours, weekdays 9:30am to 5:00pm and Sat. 11:00am to 5:00pm. You must be registered to get
your library card (register in the thesis course), and need to show picture ID.
U-Pass
The U-Pass
Program is designed as an integrated comprehensive transportation
package that provides students with universal, accessible,
and affordable access to public transit and other sustainable
transportation programs. It is a mandatory program for all
members of the Alma
Mater Society (AMS) and costs $95/month. This program
was initially approved via student referendum in February
2003 and re-approved in February 2005.
Keys
To obtain keys, fill out a Key Request Form (available from
the Botany Office)
in consultation with your supervisor. Once the official
form has been signed by your supervisor, return it to the
office. We will request the keys on-line. You will receive
an email from the Key Desk telling you when to collect your
keys. Parking and Access Control Services is located in
room 204 in the General Services Administration Building
at 2075 Westbrook Mall. There is a $20 key deposit required
and you will need to show picture ID. The deposit will be
refunded when the key is returned to Parking and Access
Control Services.
Mail
Student mailboxes are outside the Botany Office during the day. At night they are locked inside the photocopier room.
Paycheques
Pick up your first paycheque at the Payroll
Office on the third floor of the General Services Administration
Building on or after the 15th of September or January. You
can arrange for direct deposit (once you have opend a Canadian
account) by filling out a form at the Payroll Office. Pay
dates are 15th and the end of each month. If you have any
problems with your pay, please contact Iris Fung in the
Botany Finance Office.
